Newsdesk, Events & Calendars

The Newsdesk feature is an easy way to add snippets of news and articles to your website on an ongoing basis. Another typical use for the newsdesk is as a blog.

Newsdesk Categories
You can set up as many newsdesk categories as you wish. Visit Website > Newsdesk from the main menu to set up your categories.

Newsdesk Items
Within each category you can have up to 500 new items. Once you have reached 500, the oldest will be deleted as you add new articles. To add a newsdesk item, click 'add item' in the Newdesk Categories screen. The text-only summary is optional. Add images and format text as required.

Displaying the Newsdesk on the website
To display a list of all Newdesk Categories, link to the following page:

http://www.mywebsite.com/news

To link directly to the contents of a category, use the following URL:

http://www.mywebsite.com/any-text-here-f-12.html
where 12 is the ID of the newsdesk category. Please note the -f- is essential, but preceding text can be whatever you want it to be.

Layout and style of newsdesk
If you add the items to your website and view the source, you'll see the necessary DIV ID's and classes so you can hook in from the stylesheet.
