Hosting & Hardware security

Rackspace hosting

Our servers are hosted and managed by RackSpace - the market leaders in managed hosting. This ensures that the Brightpearl system is up and running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

All our servers are dedicated purely to the Brightpearl application - there is no external FTP access and no shared use by third party software.

We ensure that the latest anti virus protection is used, along with up to date operting system and database releases.

Our firewalls are provided by the latest in hardware, with configuration being constantly monitored

Software security

Accessing your Brightpearl system requires an account ID, username and password. Passwords are securely stored and never transmitted openly online or by email. If you forget your password, Brightpearl will regenerate a new one.

Access to the back-office administration area is over an SSL encrypted connection (look for the browser padlock)

All clients have their own, dedicated database - to prevent data theft or corruption by other clients.

If you like, you can also set up your account so that it's only accessible from certain IP addresses.

Information and user security

You can configure your account so that each user has a restricted access to the areas that they need to work in - so for example sales staff can only use the CRM and Sales sections, whilst you and your accountant have full access to the accounting ledgers, products and stock control.

Backup

All our databases are backed up each day at 6am GMT and stored off site. Full backups are available to Brightpearl staff for up to 2 weeks.
